WHAT WE BELIEVE

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. One God in 3 distinct persons, Eternal, and perfect in truth, love, and judgment.

We believe that God created a world in perfect order for the flourishing and dominion of mankind. It was then defiled and placed under the power of evil through the rebellion of man.

We hope even though we see a broken and chaotic world, that the work of Christ restores people to freedom through the forgiveness of sins, the public defeat of evil through the cross and resurrection, and the restoration of relationship to the God that created us for dominion and fruitfulness in this life and the next.

We believe the full gospel and the finished work of Christ; and in its present day power to save and transform lives. Through the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus believers are called to continue the mission of Jesus on earth until his return, the resurrection of the dead,  and the final judgment.

We believe that in order to be “born again” that a person must repent of their sins, and submit their lives to Jesus as their King.

We believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that the word of God is living and active and useful for everyday life. The word of God is perfect and applicable and the standard of truth as given by God to man.

We believe in baptism in water as a tangible act of faith that transforms those that genuinely repent and believe in Jesus. That the old man, or old way of life, is being buried and the new man, or new way of life, in Christ is being shaped by the power of the Holy Spirit. Baptism is not necessary for salvation, but is an act of faith with tangible power and evidence as we follow Jesus and enter into his family.

We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is for the present day church as written in the book of Acts. Including continued sanctification, the dispersion of spiritual gifts, miracles, and speaking in tongues.

We believe that our response to Jesus and his finished work both determines our future on this earth, and whether we spend eternity in Heaven or Hell.

We believe that the family is the core foundation of the church and a functioning society. That family is defined by scripture as a man and a woman made in the image of God in the covenant of marriage and having or raising children within that union.

We believe that the church is a place of celebration of what Christ has done. It is a Kingdom outpost that is in but not of the world, an imperfect example of the perfection to come. Calling the world to worship God and repent and believe the gospel.
