We believe that a church is a group of believers in Jesus following him together and making disciples. This means that they are reaching people that don't know Jesus and then continuing a discipleship journey with them.

A church is like a family, so it’s important that there is a “head of household”. This would be the biblical position of Elder, but we can call them leaders as well.

"Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God” (Acts 20:28).

2 people (or a couple) will be ultimately responsible for:
Facilitating weekly gatherings
Leading teaching discussions
Overseeing local discipleship
Casting vision
And developing leaders that eventually multiply the church

Every leader must meet a certain moral standard when it comes to leading God’s people. We are not saying that everyone needs to be perfect to lead a church. However, they must be following Jesus while leading a life of repentance and have the spiritual ability to lead others. We believe that both MEN and WOMEN can fill the roles as leaders of Salt Churches. If you have any questions, please email

"Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate ,self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap."
